So why take music lessons?
First of all, they're fun, or at least should be fun. I always appreciate when my students say, "I really have fun at our music lessons." This is great to me because everybody loves to do something that's fun & music lessons can be just that. I'm not sure why music teachers are seen as boring people; my music lessons aren't boring.
Second, music lessons help you push past your barriers. Whether you're just learning or have been playing for some time having someone with more experience guide you always helps us move beyond our limits. I have had several music teachers & all of them have helped me grow in my musical ability.
Third, music lessons help us enjoy playing our instruments. I speak to many people who are frustrated at how they sing, play, or perform on their instrument. I think we are all excited when we're able to play a song we've written or are able to sing our favorite song. When we're able to perform at a greater skill level we certainly are able to enjoy the gift of music & music lessons help us to do this & more.
