So why take music lessons?

First of all, they're fun, or at least should be fun. I always appreciate when my students say, "I really have fun at our music lessons." This is great to me because everybody loves to do something that's fun & music lessons can be just that. I'm not sure why music teachers are seen as boring people; my music lessons aren't boring.

Second, music lessons help you push past your barriers. Whether you're just learning or have been playing for some time having someone with more experience guide you always helps us move beyond our limits. I have had several music teachers & all of them have helped me grow in my musical ability.

Third, music lessons help us enjoy playing our instruments. I speak to many people who are frustrated at how they sing, play, or perform on their instrument. I think we are all excited when we're able to play a song we've written or are able to sing our favorite song. When we're able to perform at a greater skill level we certainly are able to enjoy the gift of music & music lessons help us to do this & more.

If you are just learning to play the: Drums, percussion, guitar, piano, sing, or bass it would be a great idea to sign up & get music lessons. I have been giving lessons for 12 yrs & also have a B.A. in Music from Cal Poly University in vocal performance. My rates are $30 an hour with a minimum of 2 lessons a month.

Santa Cruz Music Lessons

Are you looking to learn how to or improve your singing ability, play guitar, electric bass, harmonium, or learn how to play a drum kit, or get a better grasp on music theory? I can help!  Through fun & simple music lessons in Santa Cruz I can improve your musical skills & help you enjoy

Before coming to Santa Cruz I graduated from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo with a B.A. in Music with an emphasis in vocal performance. At Cal Poly I had the honor of studying under Jackie Kreitzer who has performed in all of the major opera houses around the world. 

I have been giving music lessons for some time in Santa Cruz & have a combined 12yrs of teaching experience. Too, for the last 15yrs I have been performing in various churches as a soloist, drummer, percussionist, bassist, music director, pianist, & guitarist; A literal jack of all trades…music wise.

In our lessons I will teach you what you want to learn. We will create lessons based upon your interest & skill levels. The lessons will be encouraging, challenging, & very practical. 

I am willing to teach students from ages 5 & up. I am able to travel & teach at your house or we can do lessons at my house. I do have some instruments including: a drum kit, acoustic guitar, harmonium & a bass with an amp.

The lessons are $30 an hour & will be paid at the beginning of the month with a minimum of 2 lessons a month.
